The tree is up and all of our decor is finished. We love an old fashioned tree filled with family heirlooms and collected ornaments from many past Christmas's. Very simple decor with the tree being the star of the show. At night the lights make the whole room glow.
A daytime view showing the many, many ornaments, and all the stocking ready to be filled.
Doves and angels for the season.
Vintage ornaments and toy ornaments collected by our children and grandchildren.
Lots of teddy's and stuffed animal ornaments too. A different one for each grandchild.
Just an old fashioned tree filled with tons of memories and lots of love.
Hope your tree brings back loving memories of Christmas's past.

ReplyDeleteYour tree reminds me of the many years that my mom would decorate her tree with all of the ornaments and crafts we made at school, keepsake ornaments that she received from friends and family. It was always such a treat to open up the boxes of decorations to rediscover all of those memories! I am sure you experience that same joy! Enjoy your tree :)

Love your tree. A "family style" tree is my favorite, and that's what I do. I still have an ornament made by my son in elementary school, and it always goes on the tree.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is beautiful, Marty.Have a great weekend.
Your tree is beautiful, Marty! I'm a traditionalist myself when it comes to my tree. I use ornaments we've collected over the years and pretty much stick with them. I do treat myself to one new ornament a year ~ something that really speaks to me or makes me smile. Lots of memories in those ornaments!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is so pretty! I love all the memories that collected ornaments bring to mind.

Marty,
ReplyDeleteLooking at your tree brought two words to mind...comfort & joy! The comfort of remembering all the times and celebrations of those ornaments when first placed upon the tree...and still today! The JOY of your loving children and grands that fill our lives daily! A beautiful Old Fashioned Christmas Tree!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Absolutely beautiful Marty! I love how full your tree is. We were given one instruction on decorating the tree at work and it was to make sure it is "dripping" with ornaments. You are spot on Lady! There is nothing more exciting then a tree loaded with ornaments in my book, even better when those ornaments carry so many wonderful memories. I love it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Marty!!! I love your Christmas tree and decor! I also like a stuffed tree--mine is almost there! Nothing is more special than putting up meaningful ornaments years after year. A tree to tell your story. :)
