Now, ours is really simple and plain, but it is what my grandchildren have grown up with and since they will all be here this year, we just did the same old thing.
Do you guys remember these old twig reindeer and sleighs that were everywhere about 15 years ago, well, we still have ours. We don't usually put it up anymore, however the grandchildren think it is mandatory, so it is up again this year.
The garland looks a little cheesy in the daylight, but the lights really make it sparkle at night.
We placed them so it looks like Santa just landed on the front yard.
Be sure to check out all the parties this week and join as many as you can. It's so fun to see everyone's decorations.

LOVE your twig reindeer and sleigh. Love them!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Marty! I love seeing the pretty Christmas lights at night. One of our favorite things to do!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
So pretty, Marty. And how wonderful that you grandchildren will all be coming for Christmas. They will LOVE seeing Santa's sleigh and reindeer parked on your lawn. They'll know they've arrived at their grandparent's house. laurie
ReplyDeleteEverything is pretty and festive. The grands will love it also.
ReplyDeleteLove your twig deer, Marty. It always looks better at night all lit up.
ReplyDeleteDidn't realize the door/porch party was this soon. Boy how time flies! I have a question. The big lights on the deer, are they some of the "old tymey" lights, or are the replica's of the old lights? I really would love to have some, and would use them everywhere if I had them! Love the decor, Marty.
ReplyDeleteI like your reindeer! Christmas lights just add something to a neighbourhood.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very festive Marty. Those are great reindeer.
ReplyDeleteWay to show us some jolly Christmas spirit girl! Love the decorations!

I love your yard Marty! I can see your neighbours too - your's is much more festive :o)
ReplyDeleteMarty,
ReplyDeleteI happen to agree with the grandchildren...I think they look marvelous on the lawn!!! The night time photo is stunning! Santa, surely, must be up on your rooftop...or did you let him in the door???
Fondly,
Pat
Marty, this is wonderful! I can see why the grandchildren would love this! It's so festive! Love the night view! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how we all cling to our families traditions, Marty. I know that even as an adult I would question my Mom about why something wasn't as it usually is at the holiday. She, of course, just wanted a change, but we would look forward to the traditions that we grew up with. You did good for the grandchildren! : )
ReplyDeleteHi Marty,
ReplyDeleteOh, it all looks so festive! I love the idea of the whole block participating with the decor. No doubt a little bit of healthy competition as well?
We'd love to have you share it at "What's It Wednesday", now linking.
Hugs,
Patti
I think it all looks just wonderful, and I love that you are keeping family traditions... xoxo Julie Marie

I love the twig reindeer, Marty! Your home is lovely decorated for Christmas! It all looks so festive!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing outdoor decorations! We hardly do them because of the winter weather. Perhaps if we get some grandkids we'll try harder!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great lit up at night!
It looks warm and welcoming! I like those reindeer! Enjoy your grandkids visit!

Marty....The front of your house is identical to my daughters in Arizona. Identical. Almost down to the shrubery. I mean the same house. Now I'm wondering if you two just might live next door to each other. I did not realize you lived there. Am I possibly correct?
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I thought you were back east somewhere. I'm thrilled that you actually might live out here in the West. The very Southwest. Let me know. This is just too fun.
Oh I just love it Marty!
ReplyDeleteAnd its so fun to see the decor in the desert surroundings.
It also makes me miss my son and grandbaby!
Oh gosh, I need to get out for a visit!
Hugs,
Cindy

ReplyDeleteMarty, Thanks for your kind comment on my Pear Tree picture. I love hearing from you. And THANKYOU for letting me know about where you are. Are you ready for this...she just moved from Surprize about 18 months ago and she now lives in Litchfield Park which of course is practically next door to Surprize. (smile) There are so many questions I would love to ask you about your blog. I am so new at this and have so much to learn and I would sure appreciate your input. Thanks Marty. I haven't put an email address because google insists I use theres and yet I can't create it. Thankyou again.
ReplyDeleteYour outdoor decorations look beautiful! I love to see all the Christmas lights! Usually spend a night driving all over to look at them! Love the twig reindeer and sleigh, I sure remember them. We had one deer. Now we have one of the prelit wire ones in front of our sleigh. I will be sharing that soon, when it STOPS RAINING:):) XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteYour home exterior is so nice! I love how you set up the reindeer that way. I don't think your garland looks cheesy at all.
ReplyDeleteI just love it Marty! My kiddos would get such a kick out of those reindeer...especially Rudolph! :-) Thank you so much for linking this up to my Doors and Porches Party!
