You guys are always so good with advice and suggestions. I think you are all right that I am more bored than anything, but I did make one tiny change for now. I did move furniture all over, however there really aren't too many possibilities for arrangements. I think the next change will be to make some white drapes for next spring and summer. For now just moving a couple of chairs did make a change in the feel and appearance.
This is how the room looked before.
And the dining area before.
Several suggested that I remove the small end table and move the white chair to the corner. Done, and I really think it looks good.
The most advice I got was to get out of the house and go have lunch with the girls. We are going to do just that tomorrow. One of our blogger friends is in town from Wisconsin and several of us are going to meet up for lunch and a little shopping and lots of talking and laughing. I can't wait. I will definitely take my camera and lots of pics to share.
Thanks for the kind words and suggestions about the room. I really appreciate all the input.

Marty, your home is so pretty, but I think we can all relate to boredom. Nice changes!
ReplyDeleteYour changes are absolutely beautiful! Enjoy your lunch tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day,
Gail
Hi Marty! No matter what you do - your home is always gorgeous! I like to change things too but don't have much option in my living room. My piano takes up so much space, but I gotta have it! :) But the little changes to help. You go and have a wonderful lunch with your friends. You can always come to Texas and help me out! :)
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Have fun at the luch Marty, that's a great change...as for your house, it looks so pretty and inviting, I wish I could go and visit, or go out shopping with you too. Start a great weekend. FABBY
ReplyDeleteYou're so smart to ask for advice! Isn't it funny how having "fresh eyes" look at a space offers new insights?
ReplyDeleteYour spaces always look great, Marty, but these changes are nice and bright.
Have a great lunch with the girls! How fun to meet a blogging friend in real life.
Love your small change and have fun tomorrow. I am getting out tomorrow, too and going to my sisters. She had some changes to share.
ReplyDeleteYour home has such a beautiful welcoming feel and love the last bit of advice...to go have lunch with friends!! Janell
ReplyDeleteMarty, I have a brown couch and love seat with warm brown coffee and end tables...so, I know what you mean about it can be a bit dark. Your changes gives me some ideas for my own living room on how to bring some light colors in. Enjoy watching all of your change outs you do. Your rooms turned out great can't wait to see what you do next.
ReplyDeleteThat little switcheroo made a big difference! It's such a pretty room.
ReplyDeleteI think you should get rid of the big mirror and give it to!!!!lolol..just kidding dear Marty, is lovely...Hugs my friend.xx
ReplyDeletetypo,give it me,lol.good day:)
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job, Marty! I know how you feel, getting bored with the way things look but being challenged in how to rearrange. I have too many windows so it is always difficult to move furniture, so it's always quite the same. Your living room looks pretty though, you did a nice job!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Marty,
ReplyDeleteThis arrangement is wonderful. With your oranges you are all ready for autumn....which is just around the corner! Your home is always lovely, and so clean............Love it!
Blessings,
Kathy
Isn't is amazing how a simple change can open up a space? Exchanging the place of the chairs did give your dining area more breathing room. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteGreat solution, Marty! It already looks lighter, brighter and more airy...Christine
ReplyDeleteMarty,
ReplyDeleteYour room looks lovely...brighter and lighter! Enjoy your time with blogging ladies...you're sure to come home refreshed!
Fondly,
Pat
I was one to vote change nothing. But I love the changes!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day out!
Changes look great and lunch out with the girls is just what the doctor ordered. My only suggestion is maybe move the throw to the other arm of the dark leather chair...I think it will help carry the light color from the sofa over to the white chair better...kind of spreading the light colors throughout. Anyway, just a suggestion. Enjoy your lunch tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of drapes, your name immediately comes to mind.
