I have seen the box on so many different blogs that who "Follow Me On Facebook" and has a bunch of pictures of the people who follow below it. I have searched the internet, been on fb and read a million things and for some reason I can't do it. I have all of my ID's from fb, and yet I still can get the code to work. So, what am I doing wrong. Can someone please walk me through this? I so would appreciate it. I am definitely not a techy person at all.
Thanks,

Marty, let me go to my blog and see is I can see how did that. I'll be back. XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteMarty, go to www.facebook.com/badges It should walk you through it. If you have trouble, let me know. Pinky
ReplyDeleteNow, can YOU tell me how to "grab your button"????? I ahve no idea how to do that!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi there Marty. I had such a hard time to get mine working. I think the issue is on Blogger's end and not Facebook. The Facebook code and trouble shooting gave no help to me at all either. Try going under the help forum for Blogspot. So many others had the same issue and someone had finally formed a code that worked with the Blogger platform. I still had to tinker with mine to get the dimensions right. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHere you go. This is a link to the thread about this issue:

The "iframe" code worked better than any html code written by Facebook for some reason. Just don't forget to use your own "ID" code for your page when you copy and paste it. You may also need to adjust the height and width, depending on where you plan to put the box on your blog.
Hi Marty! I think I might be able to help...
ReplyDeleteOn fb while you are logged in- try this link
http://www.facebook.com/badges/
It should help you to be able to create a badge for your site. When I did this for my blog- one time it created it right for me and added it to my blog and the other time I had to add the code it created as a gadget under the design mode. Hope that helps! I had a hard time figuring it out too! Good luck- let me know if you have any other questions! :) Hugs, Courtney
Okay... went over to fb and here's what I figured out-The badge that was automatically added to my blog was the Page badge- it creates the link to your FB page- It takes you right to where you can click 'blogger' and so on. The 'like' badge was the one I think I did originally and had to copy and paste. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeletemarty! you are just the sweetest! and so talented. no wonder everyone loves you :)
ReplyDeleteHey Marty! :) Thanks for your kind words on my Goodwill dresser re-do...it really was a gift from God. Sometimes I think God gives us what we're asking for, but expects us to do our part too. :) I guess I'll remember that next time God gives me something...I won't go home before I accept the gift. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you figure out your facebook thing..I wish I could help, but I don't have a clue how I put it on my page now. :-o No memory here! lol
Hugs

Hi Marty, i am a dinosaur....yep, I don't do Facebook...I know, call me a cavewoman! Linda (ps I'll learn to do facebook when everyone else has gone on to much more complex things : )
ReplyDeleteHi Marty. I just started my own blog and happened to stumble across this site: http://www.spiceupyourblog.com/. You can do a search to see if there is a post about your specific question. Even if you don't find help with the facebook like button, this website is great for old people like me who need directions in plain, old, easy to understand English! Best of luck.
