I've been working like mad in the backyard and trying to get things back in shape after this awful winter. So many plants and trees are dead. I've planted tons of flowers and several new shrubs, taken out a dead tree or two and it is looking so much better.
This is the area I'm working on. I need to make some new cushions for the bench and the one on the patio, so off to look for fabric.
I had a fun play day with my daughter yesterday. We found her a new table/chairs and rugs for her patio and now all she needs is a sofa. I can't wait to show you her yard and patio. Stunning. Anyway, she had several pieces of sunbrella fabric that she decided not to use and I got the whole lot. Can't beat free!!!
It's hard to get the colors right. The overall theme of all the fabrics is chocolate and lime green with a touch of burnt orange. There's 3 yds. of each color, so tons to work with.
So can't you just imagine all of these wonderful fabrics on this little bench and the patio. I am also going to paint this bench ORB. Should look fabulous. What 'cha think?
Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.

Marty, your backyard is so pretty! And I love those new fabrics. They will look great out there.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Pam
Those fabrics are great! Can't wait to see them all pillowed up!
ReplyDeleteHi Marty, The yard looks so good, great fabric. My yard is still too boggy to do much with but I don't think I lost any plants. The yard grew lot of moss though.

Marty those fabrics are great and there going to look fabulous on the benches! I think ORB would really transform that bench and work so well with the new fabric, can't wait to see everything done!! OK now I'm off to go do more planting outside! Martina
ReplyDeleteGreat fabrics, Marty! You'll be able to do quite a bit with that much yardage. Can't beat free!
ReplyDeleteHi Marty! Oh, your backyard is lovely! Great fabrics too and I know you're going to show us what you do with them! You have so much energy.

I am loving all your material! I am going to go and look for some this year for some outdoor pillows. Kit
ReplyDeleteThe fabrics are awesome, I can't wait to see how you put them together. Hope all goes well, covering cushions isn't the easiest project to do.
ReplyDeleteHey Marty...how lucky you are to have your daughter live near you. You spent the day with your daughter and got great fabric too! Can't get much better than that. I have a question...is there a secret to putting your blog name on your pictures? I edit my pictures in Picasa...I add my blog name but when I upload the pictures to my blog the name isn't there. I tried uploading to a Picasa Web Album but that didn't work either. Any advice? Your yard is lovely...seems there is always so much to do in the spring. Thanks ~ Ann
ReplyDeleteORB for the bench will be great. love the fabrics. I got a great deal on fabric at GW this week. Almost 3 yards for $3.53. Recovered the cushions on the screened porch yesterday. Looks so much cleaner.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Kathy
You can't beat free ! Your garden is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
You are right, Marty! You can't beat free!
ReplyDeleteI am sure your cushions will look wonderful!
I have a wrap around covered porch with white wicker. That is what most people here have. I stick with the blues, as we have hydrangea all over the place.
I bought new foam on line and Waverly fabric to make the new cushions...5 yrs ago! LOL
It is a big job, and I can't motivate myself. I have a lot of cushions to make! Maybe yours will inspire me. Better still, come for a visit and make them for me! :)
I think it will look lovely. You have a gorgeous backyard, and you are lucky to have such an early start on your gardening. I love the fabrics. Thanks for sharing. We actually had some sunny and warm weather today (after a morning thunderstorm) and I am hoping this is a good sign. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics Marty. I am looking for something different, this year, for the back porch and the deck at the condo.
ReplyDeleteIt is going to look wonderful. Our poor yards....but it will get better...at least that is what my hubs tells me!!
ReplyDeleteMarty, the fabrics are wonderful. We had to replace all our outdoor cushions because the squirrels got into them. Had to go with what the furniture company fabric choices were. Wish they had had something fun like these. I'm impressed that you are making the cushions. Wow! ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteMarty, your fabric selections are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThe backyard looks great. Love all the flowers. The fabrics are so beautiful. Can't wait to see which one U picked. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely backyard -- can't wait to see the new fabrics and I think the bench will look lovely as well in ORB.
ReplyDeleteMarty I need to find some fabric to redo my outdoor chairs! I was looking at cushions for the chairs at Walmart today and they wanted 25.00 for one. And they were even more expensive ones there as well. Maybe I can find a good deal on outdoor fabric somewhere. We do not have many fabric stores to choose from in Myrtle Beach!
ReplyDeleteYour outdoor garden is beautiful!
Great fabrics and I love the colors and patterns. Lots to work with is right. I think the bench will look great if only I knew what color ORB is. ;) Anyway, whatever you choose, I can't wait to see the results. Happy gardening. We put out 4 tomato plants after supper tonight.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Babs
