This is the little door pocket that I had up for Christmas, with it down, time to replace it with something.
This poor wreath has had a million lives, but maybe I can take some left over fruit and flowers and make it work.
Faux fruit, some wooden skewers and burlap ribbon. Just poke a hole in the bottom of the fruit, insert the skewer and poke it in. Couldn't be easier. I just break off the skewer to the length I need.
I am joining Susan @ Between Naps On The Porch for Metamorphosis Monday

I love your door wreath. I was just saying to myself I need to make something for my front door to have up in between seasons I better get working mine has nothing on it and its bare. Have a good day!

good idea! I usually leave my christmas (live) wreath up until Feb so then I can put up my spring wreath.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, Marty!
ReplyDeleteReminds me I need to change my door pocket. I am hoping it looks more winter than Christmas, so it can "hang" around awhile. This respiratory thing has given me the "slows"!
BEAUTIFUL!! I have all those same makings on hand! Thank you for the inspiration to do something with them!
ReplyDeleteMarty...is looks fantastic and sounds so easy, but I guarantee you that I could do all the things you say..and when finished I would look at it and get that feeling of dissatisfaction! Some people got it and some people don't! :) So....can I have yours?? Hmmmm? LOL
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I will try. No. I really will TRY! :)
Hugs,
Mona
Marty, your "new" wreath is simply beautiful. Don't you just love free stuf!
ReplyDeleteMarty,
ReplyDeleteAmazing as always. You absolutely won't believe this....I reworked a wreath yesterday as well. One with fruit..I added pieces of burlap, roses, hearts, and strips of sheet music to mine. I will post today and link up to Susan too so you can see it.
Two GREAT minds!!!
Have a great week!
Kathy
This looks so charming! Great job.

Marty, this is such a timely post for all of us who needed the inspiration to do the same....change the Christmas Door Deco! Since taking down the Christmas Wreath, my door is stark neked...yep it's pretty bare.
ReplyDeleteI'm on my way to FixItUp with all the neat ideas you have shown! Thanks!
Well now I know what to do with my sad looking everyday wreath! I was also going to take some old shatter proof ornaments to the SPCA but now I'm thinking I should give my tired old Christmas wreath an updated look. Thanks for the inspiration!~Ames
ReplyDeleteThat turned out wonderful! I have a natural pine wreath on my door from Christmas. It still looks healthy, so I just removed the red Christmas bow. I think I might add a jute and red stripped ribbon or garland to it...
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny
That really came out beautifully. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteYour wreath turned out really nice Marty. When I took down my Christmas wreath, I replace it with a winter wreath. I need to start thinking about a new spring wreath though...before we know it, spring will be here.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day,
Gail
Adorable, and FREE is even better....nice job Marty!
ReplyDeleteHow refreshing!
ReplyDeletewow! You made it look so rich and lush.
ReplyDeleteI love the wreath Marty. The fruit just makes it perfect. This was a great idea, I need to do the same because my front door has nothing on it since the Christmas decor came down, and I am sure I have all of the things I need already here (somewhere).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful recreation, Marty! You are so good at this...Christine

ReplyDeleteIt's so festive and welcoming. It would be pretty any time of the year, but right NOW it's doubly so because folks just need something to jazz away winter blues.

ReplyDeletepretty wreath! I should really change out mine as well. It still has a Christmas flare to it.
ReplyDeleteOh, Marty...just beautiful. You are so good at this sort of thing and I didn't have a clue that they made burlap ribbon. Can't wait to get one..I need to make a WinterTime wreath with lots of glittery snow and a great burlap bow. Thanks for the inspiration..

Hi Marty,
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by. Glad everyone did not forget me, especially when I have changed my blog name. Your wreath is stunning against your dark door. All the bright, happy colors really come alive. So welcoming. Have a blessed day.
That looks really nice Marty. I am the same way I just restyle the same wreath every year, so it looks fresh. I love the fruit mixed in.
ReplyDeleteSherry
I love it, Marty! The fun, bright colors really pop against your black door. And, the fact that you made it out of things you have on hand is even better! My front door now has door envy as it sits naked. I may have to fix that. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful, Marty! Thank you for the eye candy.
ReplyDeleteKathy
Great job again, Marty!
ReplyDeleteI'm here to wish you a very blessed week!!!

You're so talented, Marty. I agree that those spots of yellow--the lemon and apple--make it so eye-catching.
