Old World Art

I was in Home Goods and found this frame on the clearance aisle for $3.  It had a boo-boo on the edge, but a little stain totally took care of that.  Love ornate frames.

I went to my favorite free art site ( freespiritart.com) and copied this darling print of a little boy at the stable.

Printed it out to size and I had a new masterpiece. (Hard to get a pic without glare, sorry)

I think it will be wonderful on the secretary in the guest bedroom when I get it all done, however in the meantime, I love it on one of the shelves in the bookcase.  I love mixing art and books.

Look around for some interesting frames and start creating your own masterpieces.

I love ornate frames also. I bought some photo paper not to long ago so that I could copy some art work and frame them. Got the idea from you!

Marty, that looks great. I have to get my printer working right. I just noticed you and I have the same Somerset Maughon books.

This picture reminded me of your plans for the guest bedroom with the hunting theme that you wrote about on Jan. 20th. Recently I read another blog about hunting prints put into a bookcase, and I went looking for that post but can't find it now. I thought it was yours but I don't see it (and I just read all the blogs since Christmas!)
Coming back to your post, I see that the print & frame is already in the guest bedroom...so now I need to quit playing and get some work done! Happy Weekend!

Marty,
What an adorable print. . . says the Mother of two sons! I agree that this will be a heart warming accent piece in your Guest Room. How's that coming? It will be hard to remove it from it's present place of honor as those books really make this piece stand out! Beautiful post!
Fondly,
Pat

Love that frame, Marty! I must get some darker stain; I only have golden oak at the moment. I bought a gold frame at HG myself. In fact, the last time I went to HG I was so disappointed at what was out {or wasn't out} that the only thing I got was some clearance frames.
