I was in Home Goods and found this frame on the clearance aisle for $3. It had a boo-boo on the edge, but a little stain totally took care of that. Love ornate frames.
I went to my favorite free art site ( freespiritart.com) and copied this darling print of a little boy at the stable.
Look around for some interesting frames and start creating your own masterpieces.

I love ornate frames also. I bought some photo paper not to long ago so that I could copy some art work and frame them. Got the idea from you!
Marty, that looks great. I have to get my printer working right. I just noticed you and I have the same Somerset Maughon books.
Great, Marty. Love the picture!
Marty, I am all for making inexpensive art and yours looks wonderful. Thanks for the info on Free Spirit Art. I am going to check them out.

Shrry
Very nice! That looks great there on your bookshelf. I will have to jump on over to that site and check them out! Thanks!
This picture reminded me of your plans for the guest bedroom with the hunting theme that you wrote about on Jan. 20th. Recently I read another blog about hunting prints put into a bookcase, and I went looking for that post but can't find it now. I thought it was yours but I don't see it (and I just read all the blogs since Christmas!)
Coming back to your post, I see that the print & frame is already in the guest bedroom...so now I need to quit playing and get some work done! Happy Weekend!
I love the ornate frame and I love the price. What a beautiful piece of art you have created. Looks awesome on the bookshelf.
Love that frame and the print you choose it perfect!
Hi Marty, Happy Friday! =) I love your old world art, what a fabulous idea. I may have to copy this idea, thank you!
Alos, thank you for the nice comment on my foyer post. =) ((Hugs)) & Love, Liz
Marty, you are always busy adding special touches to your nest! That's why I like to stop by to visit. ;-)

thats such a charming print and you choose the perfect frame for it..
Marty,
What an adorable print. . . says the Mother of two sons! I agree that this will be a heart warming accent piece in your Guest Room. How's that coming? It will be hard to remove it from it's present place of honor as those books really make this piece stand out! Beautiful post!
Fondly,
Pat
Great idea and I love the subject. Can't wait to see your new guest room decor. Hurry so I can "steal" some of your ideas. :)
Perfection! I adore the frame AND the print!
Love that frame, Marty! I must get some darker stain; I only have golden oak at the moment. I bought a gold frame at HG myself. In fact, the last time I went to HG I was so disappointed at what was out {or wasn't out} that the only thing I got was some clearance frames.
Hi Marty! What a beautiful frame you found and the print you chose is perfect. I love the vintage look and it's wonderful on the shelf with your books. Thank you for coming by and sharing at Feathered Nest Friday this week! :)
