When Mary Ellen was here last weekend, the Goodwill had nothing, so disappointing. However my trip yesterday scored a few new treasures, and one unusual piece.
This is my favorite find because it is so unusual. It's a wine coaster and it was only $2.99 and 25% off that. Yip-Skip!!!!
This is the vignette I've had on the counter for a while, I love the frenchy bottle carrier, however I need to play.
I just couldn't wait to create a little vignette using the new wine coaster.. Some of the same things that were already on the tray with a few additions.
This is such a fun find, and unusual piece. My daughter gave me this wine stopper several years ago.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I always appreciate your visits and look forward to you dropping in.

I love the wine coaster! Great find. I haven't ever seen one before. The vignette looks terrific. Very inviting.....I'm ready for a glass. :) Blessings <3 Paula
ReplyDeleteI think you should invite me over so we can test how that gorgeous wine coaster works with the cork holder (as we pour ourselves a glass or two, hic).
ReplyDeleteThe stem on that glass is a piece of art in itself.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, Marty! I LOVE your pictures you are showing us today. Very gorgeous wine coaster for sure...and that lone wine glass! It's awesome! I've never seen one like it before.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed this post. :)
Donna
What a georgeous wine coaster Marty, and as you say it's cleaned up beautifully. Your vingnette looks beautiful, the lovely silver dish and wine glass bring it together perfectly.
ReplyDeleteOnly because of you I went to GW last week.......nothing there I would want. You must have a good one or just lucky!
ReplyDeleteI can understand why you love the wine coaster...it really is unusual. Your vignette looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe wine coaster is a great find...very pretty and I love the little holder for the stopper! Your vignette looks wonderful with the pops of silver. Nicely done, Marty!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I've never seen a wine coaster before. But now I'll be on the lookout for one. Like the stopper holder.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wine coaster! And, you're right, it did polish up beautifully! You've found the perfect spot for it, too. *Becca*
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty piece, Marty! I was wondering what that loop on the side was for. Very clever. Love that glass, too. Very unusual to see a glass with the silver stem.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh this is incredible. I love the wine corks, going to have my girlfriends daughter to save me some... hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteHow pretty Marty! Now I don't drink, but you make everything look so pretty I just may start! :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Such a good idea to have a special place for the wine stopper. I love attractive and useful together, don't you.
ReplyDeleteYou little vignette is lovely. It's makes me want to go off and do the same thing.
By 'Goodwill' I think you mean the 'Goodwill store'? am I right?
I haven't been in one of those yet.
Marty, what a great find. I love it. I have not ever seen one of those before. Now I will be on the hunt. Appreciate you linking tonight. It will be up soon.
ReplyDeleteCute wine holder Marty! So glad it also gives you a chance to display the stopper your daughter gave you-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteHi Marty, I have a couple of wine coasters but neither have the place for your cork. I don't think I have ever seen one. Great find and your vignette looks wonderful! Stop by and look at my post about the Azure pot. I stole one of your ideas.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sherry
Marty,
ReplyDeleteIsn't that always the way it happens. Take a friend to show all your treasure finds. . .and there aren't any treasures. Today was a great bargain day for sure! Thanks for sharing your newest treasure with us!
Fondly,
Pat
What an incredible find! and I LOVE that glass you got last year, they make a PERFECT PAIR...Who knows, maybe the same person donated both...
ReplyDeleteHugs to you,
Donna
You always have the best finds! I love the silver and the lonely two wine corks there!
ReplyDeleteLacy
What a great find! And everything fits together so nicely. (And I love the soda fountain corner in the back ground)
ReplyDeleteDarling vignette. I have napkin rings that look like they match your wine coaster. I got them when we lived in Paris...one ring would be attached to a bottle of medium priced wine --gift with purchase. (Ha! so we went through at least 12 bottles of wine). How cute is the little French chef?
ReplyDeleteMary Ann
I love it all!!! NOW I know what a wine coaster looks like! IF I have seen one before I didn't have a clue what it was!
ReplyDeleteThe wine coaster is really cute. Looks great in your 'tweaked' vignette.
ReplyDeleteHi Marty,
ReplyDeleteI love your wine coaster. I have never seen one with a spot for the stopper. Your vignette is so pretty too. It would look so nice in my wine closet.
Blessings
Sue
Nice find! I bet you could use for a candle holder with a coaster in it, too!
ReplyDeleteYour wine vignette is so pretty. I especially like the black and white checked base and the Wild horse wine corks. I don't drink wine very often, but have friends saving wine corks for me. They can't figure out why, but I just love the texture of wine corks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun collection of wine-y stuff you have going on there. And clever too with the cork plate, smart and chic, I like it!
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Ellen
It is such a pretty and unique wine coaster--I have the stoppers, and usually use a candle thingy for the bottle. It is nice to see a real one!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a unique piece. The vignette turned out so cute.
ReplyDeleteYour Goodwill sounds like a great place to shop.
Marty, you seem to have such a good eye for finding treasures at GW. When I go into our local store my eyes glaze over. Would you please do a blog on "how to find treasures" I am sure many of us would love to know your secrets. Love the coaster. It is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThat is TOO durn neat, Marty ! Wow! It amazes me the things you find at GW... never would happen here for sure.
ReplyDeleteYour vignette is wonderful! I love the wine glass, too.
Have a beautiful eve ~

Adore the tray!! The wine coaster is so pretty! As is the silver stem glass! Oh, the wheat, best not let my grandson's see this, it will be made into flour! lol I have one, but have it high on top of the fridge! lol
ReplyDeleteMarty I never seen a wine coaster girl..I must really be living under a rock ha ha!! Oh the fun things I find out about in blogland..Love your new look..Hugs and smiles Gloria
ReplyDeleteHi Marty, it is so exciting when you can find such special pieces like this one, a handy find too. You build such nice vignettes.
ReplyDeletehugs

Marty you find the most interesting and neatest things ever! I too have never seen a wine coaster with a stopper/cork holder. I need to take a Tuesday off from work (discretionary day...not playing hookey her) and go shopping with you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find and I love your display !
ReplyDeleteKammy
Oooo what a great little treasure you found Marty! I love that it has a little holder for that neat wine stopper your daughter gave you too!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sherri:)
You have got to be the queen of silver Goodwill finds. I stopped by mine today and found a couple of fun things too!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! You're so talented! I'm going to GW tomorrow to see what I can find!
ReplyDeleteBe Blessed!
wow , looks like a display for a magazine.. I love how you put things together.. You always find the best new treasures...
ReplyDeletehugs

I always learn something new! Never heard of a wine coaster! It is pretty cool! I found a few things at the GW the other day, too. Some days are good...some days are awful!!
ReplyDeleteYou always put together an interesting vignette!!
I have never seen anything like that with the place for the stopper either. Plus, I love the stemware with the silver stem. It's perfect on there. I can see why you want more pieces like it.
ReplyDeleteThat is really pretty Marty, and yes very unusual, but nifty! Looks pretty in your vignette.
ReplyDeleteMarty, you've inspired me to polish and use some silver pieces that have been just hanging around. What brand of polish do you use? I've bought from the grocery store. It still takes lots of elbow grease. Is there anything that makes the job easier?
ReplyDeleteMarty,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great vignette and a glorious Thrift find!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs,
Debbie
Yes Connie, I am a lazy silver polisher. I use Tarn-X and it is just wipe and rinse. No rubbing. Love it. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThe wine coaster is really cool. Never saw or heard of such a thing before. The Man thinks I'm so strange for keeping wine corks. He just doesn't realize how earthy and textural they are. Your vignettes always look great.
ReplyDeleteCAS
Love the wine coaster! I've never seen(or heard of) one before, but now I'll be keeping my eyes out for one when I'm trolling the antique shops. The whole vignette is beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh what a cute and functional piece. So pretty too, Marty! You are so lucky in finding such unusual items at great prices....Christine
ReplyDeleteOMG that is such a neat piece Marty!
ReplyDeleteI hope I can hit your goodwill next time I'm there.
And that glass fits perfectly with it, you always find the best treasures!
Cindy
Marty,
ReplyDeleteThis is so very pretty. I love your vignette with this new coaster. I love that shareholder wine, very unique. I saw you as a follower over at Tartan Scot's today, you'll love his blog he has amazing taste. Love what he puts on.

I love it! Very pretty and the added holder for the cork is very interesting. I adore that glass! Wouldn't you love to have a full set? I know I would! :-)
ReplyDeletePat
I have never seen a wine coaster before. Thanks for educating me! You create the most beautiful vignettes! You are such an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful evening,
