48th Table Top Tuesday

Welcome to the 48th Table Top Tuesday.  I am so excited that you've joined us and can't wait to see what all you've been up to.
Sometimes it's fun to create a little vignette that is just fun.  I am dreaming about travel and far away places, so this is part of my dreaming.

An old elephant box, great classic books, a whale's tooth with scrimshaw and a globe set the mood.

Throw in a good travel book with beautiful pictures.

A good bottle of wine and some time set aside for dreaming.

A great way to spend an afternoon.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.

Marty, gorgeous as always! You have such a knack for putting things together!

What a beautifully arranged and related vignette! Maugham's stories set in British Colonies in Southeast Asia are just the warm and steamy tales to curl up with on a cold winter's day. Sets me to daydreaming about sipping Singapore Slings in the Raffles Bar in Singapore! Where else?!!

That's a beautiful vignette, Marty! You have so many lovely things, and I really like the way you group them together to make wonderful scenes here and there throughout your house. :)

Marty, you create the most amazing vignettes. I love this one. I adore that elephant, he really makes you want to go someplace exotic. I just started reading an exotic book that Jain at Food For Thought featured, The Egyptologist. Can't wait to get farther into it!

Now I am off to learn about aging a picture frame!!!

I love the colours you've used in your vignette. The browns look so earthy and just right for your little travel theme. I often admire how you drape the table runners you use, it adds a beautiful decorative touch to your displays. The globe is lovely and really "makes" the scene!

Hi Marty!

I am happy to be able to join in your Tabletop Tuesday meme. I don't always get my act together in time to play.

Your little vignette has a welcome feel to it & I often think that the PLANNING of a vacation is 1/2 the fun! Thinking about where we'd like to travel makes the winter months fly by.

Thank you for hosting this lovely gathering each week. I'll try to join you more often.

Great vignette! Would look fantastic in a dark-paneled office or library. In my imagination I can see Sean Connery or Harrison Ford lingering nearby! (And that shows my age!) Bess

Hi Marty!

There are so many things about this vignette that I love, I don't even know where to begin.

I would love to be sitting in that garden (in the book) daydreaming and watching the butterflies and dragonflies flitter by. The transferware is gorgeous and the globe has a very rich and warm feel to it. LOVE IT!
