Met Monday - Changing and Redoing

Much thanks to Susan @ Between Naps On The Porch for hosting this fun party. Be sure to check out her post to see what she's created and a list of all the other participants.

I am so ready for spring, so time to change out the winter decor in the living/dining room. This is the winter look.

Now for a little spring look. I am adding some blue/white and yellow. This room gets a lot of light, so excuse the glare.

Just changing out the pillows and accessories makes a huge change in the feel of the room.

I've changed out the brass lamps for white ones that I found at Gw. I love having more white in this room.

This is the end table I showed you last Table Top Tuesday.

Well, as usual with pulling out all the blue and white, I fluffed a little more and changed it up a little.

I added a tassel to the lamp to glam it up and placed the wonderful little bottle that my friend Ceekay made me next to it.

I put my little lady under a cloche and added some pearls to my granddaughters picture. I like this better.

Be sure to come by for Table Top Tuesday and I will show you some of the other tables. I really like the different dining room arrangement I made. (Such a tease!)

Thanks so much for stopping by. I really do appreciate your visits.

Bloggers Get Together For Great Fun

What a fun day it is when bloggers can get together and have fun. Yesterday there were 6 of us that got together to visit and play with a couple from out of town. We met to have lunch at Olive Garden and then on to some shopping. Here we are at the restaurant all having so much fun talking and catching up.

On the left is Karen @ Some Days Are Diamonds ( she came over from California ), Ceekay @ Thinkin' of Home, Sherry @ Country Wings in Phoenix. On the right in front is Jamie @ Mimi's Corner, Cindy @ Applestone Cottage ( she came in from Wisconsin ) and me.

Karen and Ceekay.

Sherry.

Cindy and Jamie.

On to some shopping. We went to the two Goodwill stores near me. What fun we had rummaging through everything. We all came away with treasures.

All the gang outside the restaurant as we were leaving.

When bloggers get together, of course there are gifts. I loved all of mine. A fabulous teaspoon all decorated with lace and an old postmark and picture, a hanging banner declaring me the "Queen of Cloches" complete with a crown and cloche, a beautiful Spring tag and a wonderful bird for my spring decor. I love it all and had such a great time.

If you get a chance to meet up with fellow bloggers you will find that they are the best friends in the world. Thanks ladies, I had a ball.

Tablescape Thurs. - Let's Have Soup

Today I am joining the gracious Susan @ Between Naps On The Porch for Tablescape Thurs.

I am also joining Michael @ Designs by Gollum for Foodie Friday. Be sure to check out both of these lovely ladies to see there creations and a list of all the other participants.

It has been cold and rainy, so I thought a big bowl of steaming hot Cream of Broccoli Soup sounded wonderful for dinner.

I love this Fitz and Floyd tureen and use it every chance I get.

The detail on the whole tureen is just fabulous, but I think the lid is just stunning. Love, love, love it.

Since this is a soup dinner, I've used a checked tablecloth and matching napkins and kept the accessories very casual. The tureen is the star of the show.

Eash placesetting is placed on a rattan placemat that I've had for years.

I've been wanting this pretty ivory handled flatware from Horchow and it finally went on sale for half price, so I just had to have it.

I've had these simple green stems for ages, I don't remember where I got them.

We love tea or coffee for dinner, and I'm using the famous Big Lots cups and saucers.

The soup bowls are the matching Big Lots dishes. I love these. They are a big generous size.

The green cabbage saucer adds some green to the placesetting. It says Portugal S on the back.

I've used a yellow salad plate with pretty fruit and flowers on the pattern. It is Nikko Woodbury.

I love the fruit and trellis design on these pretty white plates. The pattern is International Tableworks Arbor.

As the sun went down I lit the candles in the little white lace tealights. I found these at the grocery store. I think they are so pretty.

The soup was wonderful and I even had some leftovers for lunch.

This is one of my most favorite cream soup recipes. It says Cauliflower, but it does give the broccoli substitute at the bottom of the recipe. We garnished ours with extra cheese, green onion and bacon bits. So good.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I really look forward to your visits. Be sure to check out my sidebar and join in the fun for Table Top Tuesdays. Remember this is not just for tables, but for all out cabinets, counters, bathrooms, bookcases, hutches, shelves and any place that you display your treasures. I look forward to seeing you all there.

Table Top Tuesday - Adding Some White

Welcome to Table Top Tuesday!!! I can hardly wait to see everyone's beautiful vignettes and decorations.

As I have said before, I have a very small home and therefore I don't have that many tables to decorate, so you will probably see all kinds of surfaces from me. I just have to play somewhere. lol

This is the vignette I have had on this table for a while, and I am really ready for a change.

This table sits between two chairs in my living room.

I am really drooling over all the beautiful white rooms that I see in blogland and in all the magazines, so I want to try and bring more white into my home, so I gathered a few white things and changed out this table.

I decided to use one of my lovely white china ladies, so I gave her a little importance by placing her on a bowl that I turned upside down as a pedestal. Makes her look a bit more grand.

Of course a cute white frame with a pic of my granddaughter is always fun for me to look at.

A white cache pot that I found at Goodwill filled with some pretty white flowers from the Dollar Tree adds a big tough of white.

I have been looking for white lamps for a while and couldn't find anything that I liked at a price I wanted to pay, and then yip-skip, as many times as I look in GW there is never anything, and then today I found this. I was so thrilled. Just the right size. I got the barrel shade at Target, so the total cost was $22.00. Not bad!!!!

I replaced the beige throw with a white one I found at Fry's Grocery and added a yellow toned pillow instead of the dark one. I like the look much better. Now to do the rest of the room

Just to keep life real I thought I would show you the mess I have on the dining table. I am shuffling things around and doing some craft projects and so I have everything out of my way and on the dining table. I guess that should be next weeks Table Top Tuesday. lol

Thank you all so much for dropping by and thank you for joining in on the party fun. I can't wait to see what all you do.

Be sure to sign in below to Mr. Linky. I really don't want to miss anything.
