Today was 1/2 price day at Goodwill, and it was a zoo, but I did find some neat treasures.
Three candlesticks. Kind of a bronze finish and I loved the detail and different sizes.

Really pretty detail with the leaves and carvings. $4.00 for all three.

Old world planter with pretty country scene on both sides. $2.00 (not bad)

Basket to hang on the wall. For $1.00 I think it will work great when I redo the breakfast room, or maybe even on the patio.

A planter full of mums. Perfect color and in really good shape. $1.50

Next was a bag full of foliage. It was stapled together and all I could see was the feathers and orange, but for $1.50 It was full of fall colors.

When I opened it up, there was a treasure trove of goodies inside. I sorted them by type and color and had a real bargain. Perfect colors to go with my familyroom redo.
Love the oranges flowers, berries and wreath. (I think a lot of these things came from the Dollar Tree, but it was still a bargain.)

Lime green flowers and berries.

Orange and mustard gold foliage and berries.

Quite a few feathers and some of them really long.

I thought this was a ton of fun and all of this for only $10.00.
Friday I went to my favorite discount fabric store and found some more fabric for the familyroom redo. A solid orange to go with my orange print, a mustard gold silk and some trims.

It's still about 6 or 7 weeks until I can move all the furniture around, but I can start making pillows and gathering together some of the accessories I want to use in the room. Planning is half the fun anyway. I see an old world theme starting to emerge.
Hope you are all having a fun day.

Marty, I am loving those new fabrics especially the orange. What great deals you got at GW and that is great that the bag of goodies was the perfect colors for your new redo.
ReplyDeleteOh Marty you did so good! I LOVE the planter! So cute! And I can't wait to see your family room redo! It is going to be spectacular!
ReplyDeleteLou Cinda :)
I want to visit your Goodwill - we don't have discount days or all of the great stuff at our Goodwill. You are right, I love the planning part of changes around the house. It's much more fun than moving furniture. We just got new windows all over the house, so all I've done for 2 weeks is physical labor!! Enjoy your weekend. Sally
ReplyDeleteAwesome finds and cheap! I love those feathers!! Rhonda
ReplyDeleteSCORE at Goodwill! WOW, you got some really great things!
ReplyDeleteLove your new fabrics! Everything is going to be gorgeous.

I just love a bargain! I can't wait to see what new treasures you build with your new thrift finds. Have fun!!
ReplyDeleteLove those new fabrics!
ReplyDeleteMy Goodwill never has 1/2 price days! They have certain sticker colors on half price but never the whole store 1/2 price! I'd bee in heaven if they did although I'm sure it was a mad house!
I love that planter that you found! That's just gorgeous! All those faux flowers etc are wonderful too!
Manuela
Marty, you're so lucky at the Goodwill! I love the little planter. Nice finds at the fabric store too!
ReplyDeleteKelly
Great finds, Marty! I love, love that planter! I wouldn't even do anything to it ~ love it as it is. What a great treasure in the Pier 1 bag! You'll have a lot of fun putting pieces together with that variety of florals. Love your fabrics. I may have a chance to stop by one of my favorite fabric discounters {kind of off my beaten path} on Monday. Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteHi Marty,
ReplyDeleteYou did really well at the GW! Love those candlesticks. I also like the color theme you are using.

ReplyDeleteYou always do so good at GW. Those fabrics look just wonderful!

Cindy
Great treasures you found, wish my GW wold do 1/2 off sales. They never do.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds. Love the planter!
ReplyDeleteI just happened upon your blog. I absolutely adore the photos. I'm your newest follower.
ReplyDeleteHi Marty, You did fantastic! I love all your goodies...Kathy
ReplyDeleteYou got some real deals. Went with daughter to the largest GW around here a week a go and I did not find a thing. I mainly went to find vintage jewelry, but I think they probably sell most of that on GW's online auction. Daughter did find a couple pair of jeans for a Grand that is growing out of everything these days.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoying your weekend.
Stay cool!
Lots of neat finds, Marty!
ReplyDeleteMArty, OUr Goodwill was 1/2 off too, but unfortunately i didnt do as well as you. I did get 3-4+ yards or 5 different fabrics for $1 a piece I was thrilled with that! More aprons will be made, lol. Also, I took a peak at your next post and my daughter and I just bought the exact cake keeper at a outdoor flea market on Wednesday. WE paid $5 for it. Nikki is in school to be a pastry chef and we needed a place to store the yummy cakes she keeps making. Thanks for sharing! Sue
ReplyDeleteWhat fun you'll have with your finds! Looking forward to seeing what you do with them. Annie
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely things Marty! I wish our Goodwill had 1/2 price day. I love the candlesticks. I can't wait to see all the lovely things I know you're going to put together this fall with those beautiful fall colors!
ReplyDeleteHi Marty Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteWow did you ever do good at the Goodwill. I can see you going through the shelves and searching each of the aisles. You are a very quick shopper, and know just where to look for what you hope to find.
I love the bag of florals. Oh how pretty they will look and those pheasant feathers are just beautiful. You will put them to good use I know.
I can't wait to see the new pillows, as the colors are so beautiful.
Have a safe trip to Karens. You, CeeKay and Jamie will have a wonderful time. Take lots of pictures I so want to see too.
Many hugs and much love, Sherry
You always find the prettiest things!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally lovin' that adorable metal planter and the fabric is going to be perfect.

Love the bronze trio of candleholders...they're gorgeous! And...I love all the beautiful florals but I must say that my favorite is that frenchy looking planter box...I just adore it!!! Well my friend, it sounds like you are going to have sooo much fun redoing your family room! I just love all the fabric that you have chosen! Can't wait to see what you do...everything you touch turns out so beautifully!!!

You found some treasures for sure... I am seeing the Old World color palette there, too!!! and of course, my beautiful autumn's promise and hint... Hugs... Thanks for visiting Oatmeal and Whimsy.
ReplyDeleteMy Goodwill has discounts but there is rarely anything I'd want even if it were free. You have an outstanding Good Will. Love the fabrics.
ReplyDeleteHi Marty, I love your new fabrics because they play up the major player which is the new orange print. The trims are great as well. With more of the orange and gold and just a touch of green its starting to take shape! So I approve whole heartily of the latest additions in fabrics and thrift. The dry and silk flowers with the fabulous feathers are going to make one heck of an arrangement or huge over sized harvest wreath for a front door or foyer. Make it huge and spectacular!
ReplyDeleteYou find the neatest things Marty and then to get them 1/2 off - Wow what a shopper!!
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome time on your girlie weekend- it sounds like so much fun!!
bee blessed

Our GW never has much for 50% off. They do the color tags Sun/Mon each week, but for some reason there is not much available in those colors.
ReplyDeleteI will have to live vicariously through your finds.

Marty- I envy all of you gals that have such neat stuff in your GW stores! I rarely find anything. I asked why ours never has sale days and the mgr. said it is up to each regional mgr. to decide. :-(
ReplyDeleteYour planter is my favorite find, with the candle holders coming in a close second. Fantastic goodies!
hugs, Sue
When DON'T you make a killing at GW?!! :) Love the planter and candlesticks, especially.
