Welcome to the 11th Table Top Tuesday. I am so glad you stopped by and hope you joined in the fun.
Aren't you just amazed when you take a picture everything that is wrong just screams at you and you really didn't notice before. That's what I saw when I showed you the China cabinet last week. Not only is the inside disorganized, but I just kept putting everything I wasn't using on top. It's a wonder the poor thing didn't fall over it was so top heavy.

Since I hadn't taken everything out and really rearranged in a while, this was the time to give the whole cabinet a redo.

I took the Mantel clock down and now it looks so much better.

All the glass and mirrors got a good cleaning and everything was rearranged.

Since there is always such a glare from the mirrors in the back, I tried standing silver trays up against the mirrors. Now all the cabinet holds is silver, crystal and my family heirlooms. I opened the door hoping to cut down on glare.

This piece is so hard to photograph, but in person it really does look a lot better.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I can't wait to check out all of your wonderful vignettes this week.

Be sure to link up below.

Marty, that is a lovely cabinet to store your beautiful treasures in. I didn't even notice any disarray in your previous photograph. It is a good feeling to straighten things around. I did that to my linen closet today--not nearly as rewarding as working with pieces of silver!!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Okay you've convinced me...I cannot live another day without looking for a beautiful cabinet nto display treasures in!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting today Marti!

ReplyDeleteMarty, it just sparkles! I almost think that china cabinet would look great no matter what was in it or on top of it, but it does look so pretty with your new arrangement. laurie
ReplyDeleteIt is an exquisite piece, Marty & you've shined it up beautifully! I like it better without the heavy clock on top...good thinking!

Marty, if you will allow me to make one small correction to your post....you are not cutting down on the glare by opening the door, you are reducing the 'glow' by opening the door. Just as Southern Ladies do not sweat, we glisten, your beautiful china cabinet and all of your glorious contents do not glare. I'm sorry to have to call this to your attention, but I would be doing your gorgeous redo a big disservice if I did not mention it. LOL. Looks great!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cabinet and what beautiful things inside!!! I joined in this week!
ReplyDeleteMarty! Thanks for hosting this! I finally have an update on my dining room I can share ... so I'm all linked up and of course will link back to you! Love your display! The cabinet is GORGEOUS!

ReplyDeleteIt looks so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the way everything just shines. You did a lovely job.
Oh Marty I need to do that myself! What a beautiful cabinet though. I have the same clock on my mantel, it is an old sessions clock...very cool indeed! Thanks for always being such a nice host Marty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful piece of furniture. So many lovlies inside of it too. It always feels good to clean and rearrange. I need to do that with my cobalt. It really shows the dust..yuck.
ReplyDeleteLoved looking at all the links today. So many creative ideas.
What a beautiful difference. I thought it was amazing before, it's so elegant and looks so nice. Every piece on display -- so pretty.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, Marty. Thanks for hosting all of your parties.
ReplyDeleteHi Marty! I really like the way the silver and crystal play off each other in your lovely curio cabinet. The whole effect is very impressive! Thanks again for a very fun Table Top Tuesday. Would not miss it!!

It looks better in real life? It looks gorgeous in the pictures! I also have a family piece, a china closet, that I use for odds and ends, and my "don't know what to do with" stuff also ends up on top. You have inspired me to give the old gal a makeover!
ReplyDeleteCass
I do the same thing...sometimes you just want a little change and some sprucing up. Your china cabinet full of crystal and silver is exquisite!
ReplyDeleteMarty-I think the pictures are great so I know it is even more beautiful in person! This is a treasure trove. Sometimes it's fun just to get it all out and "play" with it!
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful Marty! Had to laugh about you seeing all the negatives in a picture after adding it to a blog - I can totally relate.
ReplyDeleteI'm always seeing things in pictures that I don't notice when I'm just "looking"! You remind me that I should do the same with my china cabinet...maybe next week:)
ReplyDeleteSwoon, swoon, swoon, flutter, flutter, sigh, oh,oh,ohhhh! That was some of the sound effects from visiting your post today. I just LOVE your cabinet and the treasures within. Oh you have lovely and precious things! Marty, I really like how you arranged it all, but it is so stunningly beautiful that it really didn't matter. There are not enough adjectives to discribe how much I love this!
ReplyDeleteflutter, sigh, swoon...

Thank you for stopping by for tea.
ReplyDeleteDon't you love playing with the precious pieces in your cabinet. I find it so invigorating to create new ways of displaying things and when everything is clean they sparkle. Job (play) well done.
Have a great week. Pam
Hi Marty! Oh, I'm so glad you'll be coming to my Snapping Party! Your parties are always so elegant and mine will be just a little silly! :)

ReplyDeleteThat looks beautiful! Standing the silver in the back did the trick! I can see everything and it looks just sparkly good!
ReplyDeleteManuela
Hi Marty, just seems I cannot give the blogging thing up entirely....miss reading everyone's blogs too much I guess! LOL! Wow you have really amazing pieces and the cabinet itself is fabulous! They just don't make them like that anymore do they? My mom gave me a silver serving set and I have to polish it! I don't have time to get it shaped up right now and it looks horrible. I started in the that paste and it's a dirty job....not my favorite thing to do I can see that but it's beautiful when it's all cleaned up! How often do you have to polish your pieces? I like all the links you have on your page before the comments section.
ReplyDeleteHi Marty,
ReplyDeleteI started reading this the other day and then I got side tracked. I just wanted to tell you how gorgeous everything looks! You amaze me with your energy girl! It's so lovely it just sparkles!
Have a good week,
Cindy
Marty,
ReplyDeleteI haven't joined your party yet, but hopefully soon. It looks fun! I agree the camera allows you to see flaws you might miss otherwise. Love your cabinet and every pretty thing inside it!
Cathy
It looks great! Isn't it just amazing how you can take a picture and really "see" your space? I sometimes take pics so I can look at them from that perspective. I thought I was crazy but I guess not. :)
ReplyDelete~Michelle
Look at all your beautiful things!! It looks great! Mine is stuffed full and in a hallway because I have no where to store all the dishes my mom keeps bringing over. But that's a good problem to have, right?? Thanks for stopping by:-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Nothing feels better than a good re-fluffing.
