Another wonderful Metamorphosis Monday hosted by the fabulous Susan @ Between Naps On The Porch. Be sure to check out her blog to see all the wonderful transformations taking place everywhere.
Everything in our house is very neutral, so all the color always comes via pillows and accessories. Below are a few pictures of our Master Bedroom back in the fall.

I decided to add more seating to the Living Room and moved the leather chair out which just left a big empty spot. With all the deep cleaning and being in the mood to change things up, I finally dug in and put the room back together. I brought in an arm chair from the guest bedroom and draped a round table and no more empty corner.

With the dark peach pillows moving to the Living Room, I decided to use the blue and yellow toile in the bedroom.

All of the antique frames and pictures are my ancestors. My Great Grandparents, grandparents and other family members.

I just dug through my accessory stash and found some blue and white items, a couple of planters and a few candlesticks and started in.

The blue and yellow plate came from HG and the little blue planter came from the GW, all things I already had. Of course I also had to have a picture of my great-grandson.

A couple of throw pillows and a cozy throw warm up the settee.

Some candlesticks and another plate to hold all my DH's things just keep it really simple.

A clean, and more put together room and it didn't cost me a dime. Gotta love that!!!

I am also linking this to Barb's Tabletop Tuesday @ Grits and Glamour. Be sure to check out her blog and see all the wonderful new tabletop vignettes everyone is creating. Great eye candy.
Also linking to Blue Monday hosted by the every wonderful and lovely Sally @ Smiling Sally. You will definitely want to see her entries and all the participants that show us such gorgeous blue every week.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I always appreciate your visits. Hope to see you again soon.

Okay gotta say I love the old family pics the most. And it is great to have a neutral room so you can switch it up all the time. I am now neutral-ing my whole house so I can do the switch-er-roo to my hearts content.

ReplyDeleteHi Marty--
ReplyDeleteI've been out of town and out of touch, so today I'm enjoying getting back in touch with some of my favorite ladies. I was catching up on some of your posts, and I just have to leave a comment here to say that your house looks so elegant right now! Every time I look at your pictures I'm impressed by what a haven your home appears to be. Everything looks so nice and clean and neat but also so warm and welcoming. My house is a MESS at the moment, so I've had a good time luxuriating in your photos. :)
Marty thank you for stopping by to comment on my new salt & pepper set. I do love them so! And speaking of loving something. LOVE the change you posted in your Master Bedroom. Those family photos are WONDERFUL! Oh I wish I had those of my family! I also have colors so I can change things around. Thanks for sharing & I hope you have a great week! Charlene
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, elegant bedroom. I saw fabric like the two pillows with the squares/texture at Joanns and instantly fell in love. I saw so many beautiful colors but what I loved was the way the fabric felt with all the little boxes. I couldn't find the shade of green I was looking for. Now that I see your pillows I wish I'd picked off white. Those pillows are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous..I like the addition of the toile pillows and the blues to the room.
ReplyDeleteSusan
Oh so beautiful! Love how you decorate! I love all the pillows. Did you make them yourself? I seriously need to make some. Thank you for sharing with us. I love it.
ReplyDeleteSandra

ReplyDeleteYour bedroom looks great!! Isn't it amazing how changing up a few things can make a room feel brand new :-) I think the wood chair really works well in the corner -- it gives your room a softer & more elegant look :-)

ReplyDeleteI have 3 different house guest that will all be staying the same night the end of this month and so need to get my front downstairs bedroom cleaned up. It is stuffed full with things I have bought for my little antique booth. Bought some big plastic tubes the other day to help in the process- I would love to repaint- actually will need to retexture before the painting can be done but am not sure I can get that all done before they come with everything else we have going.

GM Sweet Marty, I have already told you how much I love this bedroom change you just made. I had to come by and thank you for your sweet comment on todays post. I truly hope I am giving some information that will inspire and teach a few new ideas, You are so sweet to say that, it means so much to me. You are a dear friend to me, Love ya,Kathysue
ReplyDeleteI'm so envious of your seating area. We are in the process of doing some work in our bedroom and I'm hoping that after I move some furniture out and some different furniture in...I can add a chair or bench. We don't have much wall space anywhere in our house...makes it tricky. I love the pillows on the bed...blue and yellow, a favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteSue
Yep, blue makes the room happier. I'm perplexed, though as to why you didn't link in to Blue Monday. It's not too late.
ReplyDeleteIt really looks fabulous!

ReplyDeleteWow! You have a beautiful Master. I love your natural color scheme so you can change color with accents. Even though I am partial to blue and yellow, your peach pillows were gorgeous too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit to my blog. I always love coming to see what you are up to.
I love all the framed old family photos. Those are so special.

Cathy
I love that yellow and blue floral plate, Marty! Your toile pillows would look great in my blue and yellow spare bedroom.
ReplyDeleteMarty, your bedroom is such a peaceful looking sanctuary. The painting of the deer at the mouth of the canyons is beautiful and goes so well in your room.
ReplyDeleteOh those black and white photos are priceless....they look fabulous over your bed. Your bedroom is beautiful, every little detail is just pleasing to the eye!! Thanks for stopping by:) Debbie
ReplyDeleteHi Marty, I was here yesterday but couldn't leave a comment for some reason? Your MB looks lovely. I LOVE the rusty colored pillows on your bed! Your bathroom is wonderful too. You would never know the same color of paint is in both rooms...you must have a lot of light in the MB with your windows! Love the drapes too. You're lucky to have so many pictures of family. I only have a couple on each side. I should have done MM yesterday but I forgot all about it since I'm not on here much anymore. Still working on the other half of my MB and almost ready to post. That side of the room really does not look that much different.
ReplyDeleteMarty, your master bedroom is really beautiful and elegant. I really like your headboard. It is divine!
ReplyDeleteTruly beautiful and so elegant! I loved it before but the new additions just pop. I know you are enjoying the change...it's fun to do that isn't it? : )
ReplyDeleteYou have such beautiful pieces!
Love,
Sue
Hello sweet lady...
ReplyDeleteOhhh...I do love your master bedroom, Marty...it's gorgeous!!! I loved your fall look with the pretty peach accents but it's always nice to change things up a bit...isn't it? And...I know that I've said it before but...I just love how you've done your home...sticking with neutrals so that you can change things out with different colors and accents! I think that was design genius on your part!!! If I ever have the chance to redecorate another home...I'm doing the same thing!
Well my friend, I adore your blue & yellow toile!!! Those have got to be the prettiest pillows! And...I love how you changed your sitting area too! Beautiful vignettes...of course, you are always sooo good at that! I noticed that you even changed out the candleholders on the bedside table to match! I always enjoy coming to your place, my friend...it's such a sweet treat!!!
Love ya,
Chari
Wow do I soooooo love the throw!! I also love the leather chair and was so sad to see it gone from your bedroom---it needed to come to a room in my home, however, and not to one of your other rooms. There is something so inviting and cozy and just plain wonderful about a leather chair. Oh,the big picture with the mountain thingies (whatever!) is so nice!! I agree it is nice to get a change by moving stuff--it always makes me very happy. AND just as you say you get to do a lot of cleaning--I keep telling my hubby that, lol!
ReplyDeleteit looks lovely. It is amzaing what a little rearranging can accomplish.

You always find the best finds when you are at GW. Every so often I find a thing or two there. I am just not hanging out in the right stores. I guess I am going to have to come out for a visit.
Have a beautiful day sweetie. Thanks so much for sharing today. I love it when you do.
Country hugs and so much love, Sherry
