This is a view standing with the front door opened. You can see all the way through the house to the outside. All of the rooms are very open to each other.

To the right of the front door is the Living Room. All of my furniture is very tonal, so it's really easy to change the look by just using different accessories.

The Dining Room and Living Room are all one room. It's a nice size area allowing me to have a table and 6 chairs and still use the buffet against the window.

I mix and match a lot of fabrics for texture, color and interest.

A few more views of the Living Room. We have a lot of windows, and the rooms are always bright and sunny.

As you enter through the doorway from the Living/Dining areas, the Breakfast room is on the right and the Kitchen is on the left, with the Family room straight ahead. All of these areas are completely open to each other.

The Family Room is only seperated from the Breakfast area by the use of carpet instead of the travertine tile. I love having all of these areas so open to each other.

This view shows how the Family/Breakfast Rooms connect to the Kitchen area.

A view of the Kitchen from the entry door.

That's a small tour of part of our home. It is very typical of a lot of homes in Arizona with the use of open spaces and a lot of windows. Nothing fancy or grand, but I enjoy my little builder basic, hope you enjoyed the tour.
Thanks so much for dropping by, I always appreciate your visits.
Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteMarty,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your beautiful home. You’ve done a wonderful job pulling everything together. It has a very nice flow and a rich feel, but not stiff or overly formal. I especially like the tone on tone lettered upholstery fabric on your armchair. Wishing you a fun and sunny weekend, it is rainy and chilly in my neck of the woods.
Hugs, Cathy

The colors are wonderful and it looks so warm and inviting. And funny, as many times as I've seen the picture of the chair in the living room, this is the first close up and the first time I've noticed the cutwork letters. It's GORGEOUS! Thanks for the tour. Hugs, Kat

Your home is very warm and inviting, Marty. I love all of the neutrals- you can change things up with your accessories that way. And I know you do... I like the lettered fabric on the arm chair. My 2 sisters are out there in AZ visiting the home of the 3rd (& youngest) sister. I am sooo jealous that I'm not out there in your warmth right now. Our furnace is running right this minute.
I finished adding the ribbon bow to your hand towel a few minutes ago & will pop it in the mail either today or tomorrow. Keep an eye out for it!

Oh Marty!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so beautiful. It looks like I am flipping through Home Magazine pages. You do such a beautiful job. Just lovely.
I am so looking forward to Friday. I am working on my Fall gift as we speak. I thought that would be a fun addition to our luncheon, so that each would walk away with a little something special to remember the occasion by. How many do we officially have signed up now?
Please be thinking of me tomorrow. God Bless You Marty, Love, Sherry
Any time I see pictures of your home, I just love it, Marty! I, too, like an open floor plan. It all looks very warm and welcoming. Your coffee table is neat, with the stools tucked up under it for extra seating.
ReplyDeleteYour home is so COZY I just want to sit right down and read a good book!
ReplyDeleteI love the chair with the Letters on the fabric sooo... interesting!
-Angela
I love all the light. My house has windows but it tends to be on the dark side. I think it may be because I have one room that sits in the middle of the home that has no windows. This is the dining room with the fire place---it opens to the "sun" room on one side and the kitchen on the other. Also 1/2 the windows in the Sun Room are actually not to the outside!! The are between the laudry room and the sunroom ---plus there is a carport on that side so it reduces the sunlight greatly> ALL this to say I enjoy all the light you have. I like your color choice because you can so easily change it up with accessories (sp?)!
ReplyDeleteHi Marty, such a warm and inviting home you have!!!! So inviting.
ReplyDeleteBarb ♥

ReplyDeleteEverything is perfection! :)
P.S. "Nothing grand?" To many folks your home would seem like a palace! Indeed it most certainly is grand! :) Perhaps is not so much what one has but rather what one does with what one has...and you have accomplished a most gracious and welcoming home!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Mona
Morning girl!!! Oh my word what gorgeous eyecandy!!! Oh how I have missed visiting with you and now seeing your beautiful home just gets me inspired to know that if I keep unpacking I will slowly get this house to be a home (would you believe I can't even find a single one of my cloches...yeah...I know..the horror!!!! lol) Hope you are having a great week dear friend and thank you so much for all the prayers and support!

ReplyDeleteHi Marty,
ReplyDeleteYour home is so inviting for the season! I feel like inviting myself over for some pumpkin pie and coffee! I went down to your last post and had such a smile on my face as I read through. I've been rearranging my kitchen since yesterday and nothing is feeling right. I took a trip to TJ Maxx and even that didn't help. I only left with a couple little things. I definitely get decorating block too, I know what you mean! I love your last arrangement, it's perfect for that beautiful tureen.
~Michelle
