Thanks again to Susan @http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com for hosting this Metamorphosis Monday, be sure to visit her blog to get a list of all the wonderful participants. You will be so filled with inspiration and ideas that you won't want to miss a one.
I'm not sure this really qualifies as a Metamorphois of a room, but it is a change and it was totally free. If you've read my blog before then you know that I've used gold and red as a color scheme for years, so when we moved into this home with all the cocoa carpet I needed to dream up another color scheme. While getting my arms around that task, I settled for a lot of beige. Below are pictures of the Master Bedroom and the way it's been for while, nice and beige.

Since none of the red or gold accessories I had worked, it was just left really beige.

Recently I decided to change the Living Room to a much lighter look for the summer. You can see that in an older post. Once I changed all the pillows and some of the accessories, I had a problem where to store the ones from my winter look and so the bedroom was a great candidate. I used the pillows, throw and some of the accessories, and it gave this room a change, plus it solved the storage problem. That's two for one!

I moved the ottoman in front of the leather chair and what a great place to sit and read a book.

Really very small changes, but I enjoy the dark peach color in the room. Maybe when I change the Living Room back to the winter look I will be able to use some of the summer things in here for another new look. Now that's really getting mileage out of what you have.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always so enjoy and appreciate your visit.

Metamorphosis does not always need to be a hugh change or an immediate change. Some times the simple and small changes can make all the difference. I think that worked here!!!! Added some color and made it seem more cozy and ready for a book or a relaxing snooze. I am glad you are happy with how it turned out.

Hi Marty,
ReplyDeleteWell I'm not sure what happened but you are not listed as a follower of my blog for some reason.
Can you please come back by and
re-click the follower button?
I'm sure it's a problem with blogger's site or something.
My goodness all this time I thought I had offended you in some way and I didn't know what to say to you about it.
I would have followed yours ages ago if I would have known this.
I apologize for not doing it sooner.
Thank you so much for always being so gracious and caring.
Happy Spring!
~Melissa :)
Isn't that the best way to decorate -- by finding new homes for things you already have!!
ReplyDeleteThe orange cushions add nice colour to your bedroom :-)
Kelly @ DesignTies
Hi Marty....I love all the old photo's over the bed...and I like the beige, it's very soothing color for the bedroom...
ReplyDeleteHi Marty,
ReplyDeleteThanks for getting back to me on this silly matter. It's about to be solved I believe. LOL! The only thing I can conclude is that you are following my blog but you are doing it as "private". It doesn't show up on my end so I never knew that you were. I missed having you too.
I have had one extra follower that did not match up to my counts for quite some time now and it really confused me. I think it's been you all along. Oh boy now I get it.
Did any of that make sense?
If you can check your setting for mine and change it to public then I get to see your profile and can click on it and check updates from you etc...
Don't mean to put you to any trouble.
Have a great day!
~Melissa :)
Hi Marty...
ReplyDeleteGirl, I love your new "pop" of color! Of course, I remember these fabulous decorative pillows from RMS when you had them in on your living room sofa! I looked and seen that you changed your living room pillows...love the beautiful greens...so beautiful! And these pretty peach and olive colored pillows are "rooming" in your bedroom! Hehe!!! Love that fur throw on your chair and the ottoman! Girl, you're set up for some "down-time"! Hehe! You have such a beautiful bedroom! Love those old family photos above your bed too!
Well my friend, have a wonderful weekend!
Warmest wishes,
Chari
Hi Marty,
ReplyDeleteI have to tell you I've been to two different GW's here and they are awful! Nothing like yours! Unfortunately the only things I came home with are shirts! Maybe I'll post later about them....I saw them privously in a trendy store downtown for $$$ and got them for $1.50 on half off day! Went to Marshall's yesterday with a friend and found a handbag to match perfectly....shoes & purses are my weakness! And jewelry of course! LOL! The ole bod isn't watch it used to be so not quite the fashionista I used to be but I still enjoy putting outfits together and love it when I find something that matches! How have you been doing? Any new projects in the works?
What a sweet compliment about my pinks.Thank you...Ann
