Adding a Touch Of Spring

My family room, breakfast room and kitchen are all one open space together, which I love. We have an entertainment center that is really big and takes up most of one wall. It was previously filled with books, and a lot of library type items. I decided to change things and give it a more springy look and fill it with a lot of the white ironstone and other china pieces that I've been collecting. I think it's great for a change.



This picture shows that it sits next to the kitchen. I would love to close the doors and hide the TV, but this older TV is so huge the doors won't pull out and close, so until the new TV arrives, this will have to do.

This was just a little change that brightens things up a bit and brings a little spring in and it didn't cost a dime. I just used everything I had stached in the cupboards. Can't beat that! What are you doing to add a little spring to your home?

  5. Hi Marty, you have done such an outstanding job of bringing Spring into your home! The entertainment center looks beautiful. Your new "addition" to white ironstone is sure paying off isn't it. It looks wonderful in so many places in your lovely home. I spotted some great weather vanes peeking out from the corner. I know they are old, can tell have one myself.     My mom has an entertainment set very similiar to that one!

    I have some apothecary jars I'm going to fill with eggs and a couple of other small touches that I'm going to post soon.

  8. Marty, that looks so nice and I have told you before, the white ironstone you got are so pretty, such a good deal too. Nice to see them displayed. I have started planting and have plants in the porch but I keep bringing them inside when the weather forecast is freezing, usually just at night. It's going to be in the 70's tomorrow. Our peach trees are blooming!...Christine

    It's all so pretty! I do love the large entertainment piece of furniture and would love to have something like it for our next home. We'll see.

    ~Gorgeous the way you arranged and displayed all the whites together.
    I do believe I recognize the white lattice bowl from QVC right?
    I have the same one in Sage.
    It's neat the way it stays warm from the oven.

  14. fantastic!!! i too have been switching pieces up for creams and whites, most times i would buy dark candle holders and such but the light items do make a room feel so springy. so Your cabinet looks so pretty and i love your ironstone.

  15. That looks great Marty,you are ready for spring.Isn't it fun moving things around,it's as good as getting something new sometimes isn't it? I bought a weeping pussy willow and I have watched it go from bare branches to full leaf.It makes me feel like spring will get here...eventually.:)

    Glad to hear I am not the only one who sometimes gets stumped, placing furniture. thanks for your comment! However, any time my husband gets fed up, I remind him of the time I had him install 4 ceiling fans, one after the other, until I found the one I wanted. That makes moving furniture look good.

    Thanks for stopping by! I hope my blog wasn't too long or boring but I tried to condense it as much as I could. Yes, it's like anything else, most people just don't like to take the time to really get down to behavioral issues with their horses and then they don't enjoy them. I'm passionate about educating people who really want to learn to communicate with their horses. Most people just want to get on and ride. I do love them and when they begin to respond to you it's so rewarding. I don't train other people's horses, just our own (we have young ones....that's why you don't see a lot of photos of me riding yet, it's a lot of round pen work first and people don't want to do it, easier to buy an already trained horse) but I'm willing to help anyone who wants it. Hope you have a great day. So far my computer is staying on....we'll see.
